Meanwhile, in Bay 3, is treating a 19-year-old firefighter, Marco , who has second-degree burns on his hands and face. Marco is laughing, borderline manic.
Robby arrives. He stares at Troy’s chest.
Marco nods, tears cutting tracks through soot on his cheeks.
“She’s an environmental chemist. She was testing groundwater at the landfill. She said something was wrong—the leachate levels were insane. Then—boom.”
“He’s fighting. So will you.”
