Let us begin by reminding ourselves to have taqwa — consciousness of Allah. Today, I want to reflect with you on two short but powerful words: Alhamdulillah (All praise is for Allah).
All praise is for Allah. We praise Him, seek His help, and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil within ourselves and our bad deeds. Whoever Allah guides, no one can misguide; and whoever He allows to go astray, no one can guide. Allah says in the Qur’an: “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]” (Qur’an 14:7). Gratitude is not just a feeling; it is an action of the heart, tongue, and limbs. We thank Allah with our hearts by recognizing His blessings, with our tongues by saying Alhamdulillah , and with our limbs by using His gifts in obedience.
