Monet Tejada (icy queen, ruthless) meets Tariq in a diner. She thanks him for protecting her product. “You’re not your father. You’re smarter. But smart doesn’t matter if you’re soft.” She offers him a choice: run the Tejada campus operation or watch Tasha go to prison for Ghost’s murder (Monet has evidence Tasha did it). Tariq’s face hardens. “I’ll do it. But I’m no one’s soldier.” Your mother
Tasha, now hiding in a Newark safehouse, calls Tariq. “The Tejadas are connected to the Zetas. Don’t trust them. But don’t cross them either.” Tariq realizes: he can’t leave the game — the game just rebranded.
Professor Carrie Milgram (law & ethics) introduces Tariq to the class as “the son of a drug kingpin trying to go straight.” She’s sharp, observant, suspicious. After class, she warns him: “Your past will follow you here. Don’t lie to me.” ACT TWO — The Two Worlds Collide Scene 4: Tariq’s old crew — Cane, Dru, Diana Tejada (children of drug queen Monet Tejada) — corner him in the library. Cane: “Then we tell the cops you’re still dealing.”
