Ontario Building Code 2024 ((free)) -

(1) Except as provided in Article 9.7.1.3, glass in the following locations shall be safety glass or safety glazing:

(a) glazing in doors, including door lites, side lites, and glazing that is located within 900 mm of the door frame and within 1,500 mm of the finished floor level; ontario building code 2024

(b) glazing in walls that is located within 1,500 mm of the finished floor level and where the glazing is within 900 mm of a door; (1) Except as provided in Article 9

(c) glazing that is within 450 mm of the finished floor level and has an area greater than 0.5 m². This is a key safety requirement to prevent injury from broken glass in areas where impact is likely.
