Taiga wakes up to find three girls using him as a human pillow. Ririna is clinging like a koala, the beast-girl Fena is sprawled across his legs, and the quiet mage, Shizuka, has somehow swapped bedrolls during the night. The internal panic is real.

Mid-chapter, they encounter a mysterious hooded figure by the river. She’s a traveling merchant with a wagon of “special supplies” (wink, nudge). The Spirit Council sends its regards.” Then she collapses from exhaustion. CHAPTER END. My Take This chapter balances fan service and actual plot better than the last few. The hot spring scene was predictable but well-executed, and the new kitsune merchant adds a much-needed lore hook. I’m actually curious about the Spirit Council now.
