The uncle fumes. Thakur Surya Pratap watches from across the room, his jaw tight. Later, in his private chamber, he tells Vikram: “That woman has no fear. She will ruin our family’s honor.” That night, Raghav returns home drunk. He tries to assert dominance over Gulabo, something he has never done. He slurs, “My father says… you need to be taught a lesson.” Gulabo stands still, arms crossed. When Raghav raises his hand to slap her – for the first time – she catches his wrist mid-air.
“You want to throw me out? I will burn myself first. And every soul here will be named a murderer. Try me.”

The screen freezes on her blazing eyes. Raghav weeps silently. The Thakur’s face twists with rage and fear.
Raghav stumbles back, terrified. He leaves the room. The next morning, the village council (panchayat) is called. The uncle accuses Gulabo of “insolence” and “manhandling a man.” The Thakur demands that Gulabo apologize publicly, touch the uncle’s feet, and be confined to the house for three months. She will ruin our family’s honor
