At a Venetian masquerade hosted by a mysterious Count, a disgraced American diplomat must identify a killer known only as "The Chameleon" before the stroke of midnight—only to realize his beautiful, amnesiac partner is the assassin, and she’s just remembered who she works for.
Our protagonist, , wears a silver half-mask and a tailored tuxedo. He’s nursing a glass of prosecco, scanning the crowd. His contact was supposed to meet him here—a defector with a list of foreign agents. The defector is late. Very late.
