Ep 1: Coffee Prince

We meet Go Eun-chan (Yoon Eun-hye). She’s not your typical K-drama heroine. She’s a tomboy, broke as a joke, and works multiple gigs (carrier driver, taekwondo instructor) to support her mom and sister. She’s loud, scrappy, and accidentally looks like a boy.

Okay, I finally did it. I pressed play on the 2007 classic Coffee Prince , and Episode 1? It hit me like a shot of cold espresso on a humid day — unexpected, bracing, and instantly addictive.

Their first meeting is chaos: Eun-chan grabs a handful of his (expensive) suit and yells at him to apologize after a minor parking lot fender-bender. He’s baffled. She’s furious. coffee prince ep 1

Enter Choi Han-kyul (Gong Yoo). Rich, arrogant, chaebol heir with a food empire in his future. He hates his family’s control. He hates blind dates. He’s basically a golden retriever in a suit — playful but prone to tantrums. We meet Go Eun-chan (Yoon Eun-hye)

She agrees because she’s drowning in debt. He agrees because he’s desperate for freedom. The entire scene where they “practice” being a couple is so awkwardly hilarious I had to pause and walk around my room.
